Email Preferences

GolemDrive sends several types of emails, and you’re in full control of which ones you receive. Whether you want to stay on top of everything or keep your inbox quiet, you can customize it all from one place.

Here’s what GolemDrive can send you:

Notifications about important security events on your account:

  • Login from a new device or location
  • Password changes
  • Recovery phrase viewed
  • Failed login attempts

We strongly recommend keeping these turned on. They’re your first line of defense if someone tries to access your account without your permission.

Product updates, new feature announcements, and occasional tips on getting more out of GolemDrive. These are low-frequency — we don’t spam.

A summary of your recent activity. You can choose the frequency:

  • Daily — a quick recap every morning
  • Weekly — a summary every Monday
  • Off — no digests at all

Digests include things like how many files you uploaded, storage used, downloads on your shared files, and any new followers or tips.

Get notified when someone accesses one of your shared files or collections. This includes:

  • First-time access on a share link
  • Downloads from your shares
  • New comments on shared files (if comments are enabled)

Useful if you want to know when people are actually using the files you’ve shared.

If you’re part of a team, these emails cover:

  • Invitations to join a team
  • New members joining your team
  • Role changes
  • Members leaving
  1. Go to Account > Settings > Email Preferences
  2. Toggle each email type on or off
  3. For digest emails, choose your preferred frequency
  4. Changes save automatically

Every email GolemDrive sends includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will turn off that specific email type immediately.

This is a quick way to opt out if you receive an email you don’t want — no need to log in and navigate to settings.

Changed your mind? You can always turn notifications back on:

  1. Go to Account > Settings > Email Preferences
  2. Toggle the email type back on

The change takes effect immediately. You’ll start receiving those emails again from that point forward.

While you can technically turn off security alerts, we genuinely recommend keeping them enabled. They’re the fastest way to know if something unusual is happening with your account. If you do turn them off, consider checking your Activity Log regularly instead.
