Followers & Connections

GolemDrive isn’t just a place to store files. You can follow other users, build a network, and keep up with what people are sharing. The Connections page is where you manage all of that.

Your connections are split into three tabs so you can quickly find who you’re looking for:

  • Followers — people who follow you. They see your public uploads in their feed.
  • Following — people you follow. Their uploads appear in your feed.
  • Mutual — people who follow you and you follow them back. Your closest connections on the platform.

Got a lot of followers or following a lot of people? Use the search bar at the top of any tab to find someone specific. Just start typing their name or username, and the list filters down in real time.

You can follow or unfollow someone from anywhere you see their user card — on your connections page, on their profile, or in search results. Just click the Follow or Unfollow button.

When you follow someone:

  • Their new uploads appear in your social feed
  • They get a notification that you followed them
  • You show up in their Followers tab

When you unfollow someone:

  • Their content stops appearing in your feed
  • They are not notified about the unfollow

If someone is bothering you, block them. Blocking is more than just unfollowing — it cuts off their access to you entirely.

When you block someone:

  • They can’t see your files or profile
  • They can’t follow you or contact you
  • Their content disappears from your feed
  • Any existing follow relationship is removed

To block someone, go to their profile, click the three-dot menu, and select Block. To unblock, go to Settings and find the Blocked Users section.

Sometimes you don’t want to see someone’s content but you don’t want to unfollow or block them either. That’s what muting is for.

When you mute someone:

  • Their uploads stop appearing in your feed
  • You remain following them (and they won’t know you muted them)
  • You can still visit their profile and see their files manually

To mute someone, click the three-dot menu on their user card and select Mute. To unmute, do the same and select Unmute.

When you visit any user’s profile, you’ll see your connection status with them:

  • Following — you follow them, but they don’t follow you back
  • Follower — they follow you, but you don’t follow them back
  • Mutual — you follow each other
  • None — no follow relationship in either direction

This makes it easy to see where you stand with anyone at a glance.
