What the AI Can Do

GolemDrive comes with an AI assistant built right into your dashboard. You’ll find it on the Chat page. No extra apps, no plugins, no setup — just open it up and start typing.

Talk to it like a person

You don’t need to learn any special commands or memorize a syntax. Just type what you want in plain English, the same way you’d ask a friend for help.

Want to find a file? Type “find my tax return.” Want to share something? Type “create a share link for the vacation photos.” The AI figures out what you mean and takes care of it.

What it can help with

The assistant can do a lot more than just answer questions. Here’s a quick look at the kinds of things it handles:

• Find files — search by name, type, date, or even describe what you’re looking for
• Create share links — share files with passwords, expiry dates, or download limits, all through the chat
• Check your storage — ask how much space you’ve used, how much is left, and what’s taking up the most room
• Organize your files — move files between folders, rename things, clean out your trash
• View download stats — see how many times your shared files have been downloaded
• Manage your account — check your current plan, see your earnings if you’re a creator, review team members
• Create folders and teams — set up new folders or team workspaces without leaving the chat

It works step by step

When you ask the AI to do something, you’ll see it working in real time. It might search for files, look up your account details, or check permissions — all visible in the chat window. You can follow along and see exactly what it’s doing.

If it needs to do something that could affect your files or account (like deleting something or sharing a file), it’ll ask you for permission first. More on that in the Permissions & Safety page.

Available on every plan

The AI assistant is available to everyone, including the Free plan. You don’t need to upgrade to use it. Just open the Chat page and start typing.

Tips for getting the most out of it

• Be specific. “Find my 2025 tax return” works better than “find a document.”
• Ask follow-up questions. The AI remembers what you were just talking about, so you can say things like “now share that file with a password.”
• Use it for things you’d normally click through menus for. It’s often faster to type “how much storage am I using?” than to navigate to the settings page yourself.
• Don’t worry about getting the wording perfect. The AI is flexible and understands different ways of saying the same thing.
