Inviting Members
Once you’ve created a team, the next step is getting people into it. Inviting someone takes just a few clicks.
How to invite someone
Section titled “How to invite someone”- Go to your team page (click the team name in the sidebar under Teams)
- Click Invite
- Enter the person’s email address
- Choose a role for them — Viewer, Editor, or Admin (not sure which to pick? See Roles & Permissions)
- Click Send Invite
They’ll receive an email with an invitation link. When they click it and sign in (or create an account), they’ll be added to your team.
What happens when they accept
Section titled “What happens when they accept”Once the invited person accepts, they’ll see your team in their own sidebar. They can access the team’s shared folders and files, based on the role you gave them. For example:
- A Viewer can browse and download files
- An Editor can upload, download, and manage files
- An Admin can do all of that plus invite or remove other members
Pending invitations
Section titled “Pending invitations”If someone hasn’t accepted yet, you’ll see their invitation listed as pending on the team page. You can:
- Resend the invitation if they didn’t see the email
- Revoke the invitation if you changed your mind or sent it to the wrong person
Revoking a pending invitation doesn’t affect the person — they just won’t be able to use the link anymore.
Inviting multiple people
Section titled “Inviting multiple people”Want to add several people at once? Just repeat the process for each person. Send invitations one at a time, and pick the right role for each.
A few things to keep in mind
Section titled “A few things to keep in mind”- The person you’re inviting needs a GolemDrive account. If they don’t have one yet, they can create a free account when they accept the invitation.
- You can change someone’s role after they’ve joined. No need to remove and re-invite them.
- Only Owners and Admins can invite new members. If you don’t see the Invite button, check your role on the team.
