Creator Subscriptions
Beyond download earnings and tips, GolemDrive lets you offer monthly subscription plans to your followers. Subscriptions give you a steady, predictable income stream while giving your subscribers access to exclusive content or perks.
Creating a subscription plan
Section titled “Creating a subscription plan”To set up your first plan:
- Go to Creator Dashboard > Plans
- Click Create New
- Fill in the details:
- Plan name — something clear and appealing, like “Premium Access” or “VIP Collection”
- Monthly price — the amount subscribers will pay each month (in tokens)
- Description — tell potential subscribers what they’ll get
That’s it. Once you save the plan, it becomes available on your creator profile for anyone to subscribe to.
How subscribers pay
Section titled “How subscribers pay”Subscribers pay monthly. Tokens are deducted from their balance at the start of each billing period. If a subscriber doesn’t have enough tokens when their renewal comes due, their subscription is paused until they top up.
What you earn
Section titled “What you earn”You receive 95% of the subscription price. GolemDrive takes a 5% platform fee — the same rate as download earnings and tips.
For example, if you set a plan at 100 tokens per month and have 20 subscribers, you earn 1,900 tokens per month (100 x 20 x 0.95).
Managing your plans
Section titled “Managing your plans”You can manage all your plans from Creator Dashboard > Plans. For each plan, you can:
- Edit — change the name, price, or description. Price changes only affect new subscribers; existing subscribers keep their current rate until they cancel and re-subscribe.
- Pause — temporarily stop accepting new subscribers. Existing subscribers keep their access.
- Delete — remove the plan entirely. Current subscribers keep access until the end of their paid period, then the plan expires for everyone.
Viewing your subscribers
Section titled “Viewing your subscribers”To see who’s subscribed to your plans:
- Go to Creator Dashboard > Plans
- Click on any plan to see its subscriber list
For each subscriber, you can see:
- Their username
- When they joined
- Their current status (active, cancelled, or expired)
- How many months they’ve been subscribed
What happens when someone cancels
Section titled “What happens when someone cancels”When a subscriber cancels, they keep access until the end of their current billing period. They’ve already paid for that time, so they get to use it.
After their paid period ends, their subscription status changes to expired and they lose access to subscriber-only content (if you’ve set any up).
Cancelled subscribers can re-subscribe at any time from your creator profile.
Tips for successful subscriptions
Section titled “Tips for successful subscriptions”- Be clear about what subscribers get — the more specific your description, the more confident people will feel about subscribing
- Price reasonably — look at what other creators in your niche charge and price competitively
- Engage with your subscribers — people are more likely to stay subscribed when they feel like they’re part of a community
- Offer multiple tiers — you can create several plans at different price points to appeal to a wider audience
