Create Your Account

Setting up your GolemDrive account is quick and free. Here’s how to do it.

Head to golemdrive.com and click the Get Started Free button.

Type in your email address and choose a password. Pick something strong — this password protects access to your encrypted files, so make it a good one.

Check your inbox for a verification email from GolemDrive. Click the link inside to confirm your address. (If you don’t see it, check your spam folder.)

This is the most important part of the signup process.

After verifying your email, you’ll be shown 12 random words. This is your recovery phrase. It’s the backup key to your entire account.

Write these words down on paper and put that paper somewhere safe. Not in a note on your computer. Not in a screenshot. On actual paper, stored in a safe place — like you would with a spare house key.

Why does this matter so much? Because GolemDrive encryption means we can’t see your files or your keys. If you ever forget your password and don’t have your recovery phrase, there is no “forgot password” reset that can get your files back. The recovery phrase is your safety net.

We have a full page explaining your recovery phrase if you want to understand more.

That’s it. Your account is ready with 50 GB of free encrypted storage. You’ll land on your dashboard, where you can start uploading files right away.

The free plan is generous enough for most people. If you find yourself needing more space or want extra features, you can upgrade your plan anytime from your account settings. There’s no pressure — use the free plan as long as you like.
