Notifications
GolemDrive keeps you informed about what’s happening with your files, shares, and account. You can control exactly what you hear about and how.
The notification bell
Section titled “The notification bell”Look at the top-right corner of your dashboard. The bell icon shows your unread notifications. A small badge displays the count of unread items. Click the bell to open the notification panel and see what’s new.
Types of notifications
Section titled “Types of notifications”GolemDrive sends notifications for events like:
- New shares — someone shared a file or folder with you
- Team invitations — you’ve been invited to join a team
- Download alerts — someone downloaded a file you shared
- Share access — someone accessed one of your share links
- System updates — important announcements about GolemDrive (maintenance windows, new features)
- Storage warnings — you’re running low on storage or transfer quota
Email notifications
Section titled “Email notifications”Some notifications can also be sent to your email address. This is useful for events you don’t want to miss even if you’re not currently logged in.
You choose which events trigger an email. For example, you might want an email when someone joins your team but not when a share link is accessed.
Managing your preferences
Section titled “Managing your preferences”- Go to Settings > Notifications
- You’ll see a list of notification types
- For each type, toggle:
- In-app — shows in the bell icon notification panel
- Email — sends a message to your registered email address
- Your changes save automatically
Clearing notifications
Section titled “Clearing notifications”- Mark all as read — click the “Mark all read” button at the top of the notification panel to clear the unread badge
- Delete old notifications — remove individual notifications you no longer need by clicking the dismiss button on each one
- If you’re getting too many email notifications, go to your notification preferences and turn off email for the noisier event types. You’ll still see them in the app.
- Check your spam folder if you’re expecting email notifications but not seeing them. Adding GolemDrive’s sending address to your contacts can help.
- Notification preferences are per-account, so if you use GolemDrive on multiple devices, your settings apply everywhere.
