Reporting & Blocking

GolemDrive is meant to be a safe, respectful place for everyone. If you run into someone or something that doesn’t belong, you have tools to deal with it.

If a user is behaving badly — harassing others, impersonating someone, or doing anything that violates the platform rules — you can report them.

  1. Go to the user’s profile
  2. Click the three-dot menu
  3. Select Report
  4. Enter a reason explaining what’s going on
  5. Submit

That’s it. The report goes to the GolemDrive moderation team for review.

If you see a specific file, share link, or feed item that shouldn’t be on the platform — spam, illegal content, copyrighted material — you can report that too.

  1. Click the three-dot menu or Report button on the item
  2. Enter a reason for the report
  3. Submit

You can report content from your social feed, from a file’s detail page, or from a shared link page.

Every report goes into a moderation queue where the GolemDrive team reviews it. They’ll look at the reported user or content, check the context, and take appropriate action if needed. This could mean removing the content, issuing a warning, or suspending the account.

You won’t always get a direct response to your report, but you can check your submitted reports from your account to see their status.

Blocking is the strongest action you can take against another user. When you block someone:

  • They can’t see your files or profile
  • They can’t follow you or contact you
  • They won’t show up in your feed
  • Any existing follow relationship between you is removed

To block someone:

  1. Go to their profile
  2. Click the three-dot menu
  3. Select Block

Changed your mind? You can unblock anyone at any time.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Open the Blocked Users section
  3. Find the person you want to unblock
  4. Click Unblock

They won’t be notified that you unblocked them, and they won’t automatically re-follow you. They’d have to follow you again on their own.

Muting is a lighter option than blocking. When you mute someone:

  • Their content stops appearing in your feed
  • You stay following them (they won’t know you muted them)
  • They can still see your profile and files
  • They can still follow you and contact you

Muting is great for when you want a quieter feed without cutting someone off entirely.

To mute someone, click the three-dot menu on their user card or profile and select Mute. To unmute, do the same and select Unmute.

  • Report first, block if needed. Reporting sends the issue to the moderation team. Blocking protects you personally. Do both if the situation calls for it.
  • Don’t abuse the report system. Only report genuine violations. Filing false reports wastes the moderation team’s time and could result in action against your own account.
  • Muting is invisible. The other person has no way of knowing you muted them, so there’s no awkwardness involved.
