How Earnings Work

If you share files publicly on GolemDrive, you can earn money every time someone downloads them. Here’s how it all works.

You earn per download

The basic idea is simple: when someone downloads one of your shared files, you get paid. Earnings are calculated based on downloads, not views, not page visits, not clicks — actual file downloads.

This is sometimes called a CPM model (cost per thousand), which just means your rate is expressed as a dollar amount per 1,000 downloads.

Rates depend on location

Not all downloads are worth the same amount. Rates vary based on where the person downloading your file is located. Downloads from some countries pay more than others.

For example:

• United States — among the highest rates, around $10 per 1,000 downloads
• Western Europe — strong rates, slightly lower than the US
• Other regions — lower rates, but downloads from everywhere count

GolemDrive supports earnings in 50 countries, so you can earn from a global audience.

How to start earning

To become an earning creator, you need:

1. A GolemDrive account (even the Free plan works)
2. Public shared files — create share links for files you want to earn from
3. At least 2,000 total downloads — this is the minimum threshold before earnings start being tracked

Once you hit 2,000 downloads, your earnings begin accumulating. You don’t need to apply or get approved — it happens automatically.

Conversion rate matters

Here’s a bonus: if people who download your files end up signing up for GolemDrive, your earning rate can increase. This is called your conversion rate — the percentage of your downloaders who become GolemDrive users.

A higher conversion rate means better per-download rates for you. It’s GolemDrive’s way of rewarding creators who bring in new users.

Platform fee

GolemDrive takes a 5% platform fee from your earnings. You keep the other 95%.

That’s it — no hidden charges, no complicated fee structures. If you earn $100, you take home $95.

Tracking your earnings

You can see everything in your Creator Dashboard:

• Total earnings (all time and this month)
• Downloads by file
• Earnings by country
• Your current CPM rate
• Conversion rate

The short version

Share files, get downloads, earn money. The more downloads you get (especially from higher-paying countries), the more you earn. You keep 95% of everything.
